The House is operated by the not-for-profit organization Ronald McDonald House
Charities of Marshfield, Inc. Our House also has the name "The House that Love Built"
because it relies on the generosity of many people. The doors of the Ronald McDonald
House opened on December 8, 1983, less than 10 months after the Board held its first
meeting. People in communities throughout Wisconsin and neighboring
states responded
to the pleas for funds to renovate an existing structure suitable for the House.

Marshfield’s House is a charming two-story brick home located across the street
from Saint Joseph’s Children's Hospital so parents can be immediately available-day or night-should
their child need them. Children receiving outpatient treatment may stay here with
their parents to be close to the medical facility. In addition to their private
room, parents will find a warm comfortable setting where they can rest, prepare
a hot meal, and perhaps as important, share their concerns and experiences with
other parents in similar situations.
Our Ronald McDonald House has the capacity to lodge 10 families. Not just for sleeping,
the House helps ease the financial burden by providing generously stocked kitchen and
laundry facilities, a pleasant sunroom, comfortable living rooms, and an outdoor deck
and play area-all for a minimal nightly fee. With our new elevator, it is also handicap
accessible.
Families at the RMH of Marshfield are asked to pay $5.00 per night. The House Director
on an individual basis reviews financial hardship. No family who qualifies is ever
turned away for lack of funds.
For information about staying at the House, please call or e-mail us.
Room reservations cannot be made in advance. We will only take your name for a
room on the day you need to stay. If a same day reservation is not made, rooms
are given on a first-come, first-serve basis.
